Broke an ankle, got a cast. Dressed in white shirt, dark pleated skirt. Went to university, got a literature degree. Had a boyfriend then two. Read, stayed in bed. Went out for the night. Lived alone. Designed books and other things too. Left the country, met someone good. Got pregnant, got sick, got fat. Had a baby in a foreign language. Moved back to the city, the country. Read, stayed in bed. Dyed her hair more than once. Played daughter’s games, husband’s songs.

All this time making this ☐, yes she does.
